Spectroscopic properties of Gd3+-doped fluorozirconate glass

摘要
The optical absorption and MCD spectrum of gadolinium-doped ZBLAN fluorozirconate glass were recorded at room temperature. The induced electric dipole contributions to the experimental dipole strengths were parametrized in terms of phenomenological Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters. The parameter set obtained by a standard least-squares fitting procedure is: Omega(2) = (3.35 +/- 0.62) X 10(-20) cm(2), Omega(6) = (2.81 +/- 0.08) X 10(-20) cm(2), and Omega(4), is indeterminate. Special attention is given to the characteristic spectroscopic properties of the Gd3+ ion. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
