摘要：

Potential of capitalizing the most valuable asset, knowledge of skilled operating personnel, in a business environment is discussed. Utilizing industrial information technology (IT) in continuously develop a knowledge databank is discussed. Functionalities of a PIMS (process information management system) that help operators to manage the process, analyze problems, monitor quality and plan activities are presented. PIMS also provides tools for management to support the management system, mainly by making it possible to set clear targets for each responsibility area, monitor results and plan corrective actions.
