In this Letter, we give a comment on [F. Yu, H. Zhang, Phys. Lett. A 353 (2006) 326]. We first show that there are many mistakes in the paper. The obtained 2 + I non-isospectral discrete integrable systems are not true. And then we reconstruct a 2 + I non-isospectral discrete integrable system by using the Lax technique, which is a generalization of the Blaszak-Marciniak lattice hierarchy. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V.
