Electricity deregulation - Managing a new reality

As the deregulated market for electricity supply emerges from the established monopolies, large industrial users are among the first groups being offered alternate options for their purchase of electricity. Although these initial offerings are limited in nature and restrictive in operation; this is only the prelude to Full Retail Market Access to supply for all customer classes. The purpose of this paper is to provide delegates with information and background to the changes that they should expect to see in the electricity marketplace. Furthermore, the paper will provide a guide on how to evaluate the potential benefits and risks to some of the issues that pulp and paper users will see with these market changes.
