摘要
A compact and wideband design of a gradientindex (GRIN) switched-beam lens antenna is presented for millimeter-wave 5G applications. Two-dimensional (2D) electronic beam-scanning is achieved to cover a wide angular range without sacrificing the antenna gain. A peak-gain of similar to 20 dBi is maintained over an impedance bandwidth of 43% regardless of the switching state. The proposed switched-beam technique offers continuous coverage of +/- 23 degrees for any phi plane with a negligible scan-loss. The sidelobe level remains below -12 dB regardless of the switching state.
