摘要
The basic aim of this paper is to present intelligent ship from today with her basic systems and its characteristics. These systems are very complex in order to fulfill strict safety, environmental protection and commercial requirements. Intelligent ship must be fully automatic, fully integrated and supported with the computers ill operation and maintenance. Stability must be calculated and controlled with adequate computer unit thus providing safety for all operational conditions. Satellite communication on such ship provides efficient connection and fluent transmission of data and information. Satellite positioning systems also makes navigation safe, exact and reliable. Croatian shipyards are constructing such ships, Croatian seamen are handling such ships and Croatian educational system is educating constructors and operators of such ships. Evaluating Croatian geographic position it is evident that shipping and naval architecture must be Croatian mayor traffic orientation in transitional conditions in order to make busy shipyards, ports and shipping companies.
