摘要
In this article, a novel monopole antenna for the ground penetrating radar applications is proposed. The antenna is a monopole bowtie with two slots and a defected ground plane, in order to improve the bandwidth. The proposed antenna shows a great bandwidth from 3.9 to 18 GHz which makes it to be an ultra-wideband antenna. The overall size of the antenna is 14 x 22 x 1.6 mm(3) on the FR4 substrate. Also, a prototype of the proposed antenna is fabricated. The measurement and simulation results are in good agreement.
