Novel Design of Dual Band-Notched Rectangular Monopole Antenna with Bandwidth Enhancement for UWB Applications

摘要
In this letter, a rectangular monopole antenna with a new structure for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications with dual frequency band function is presented. The designed antenna includes an inverted T-shaped notch in the ground plane and small rectangular radiating patch with an M-shaped cut and two rectangular slots with steps on it and can provide plenty of bandwidth from 3 to 12.5 GHz. Reduction in size of the antenna (10x14 mm2) has been taken into consideration. The bandwidth of the proposed antenna is wider than the bandwidth of other antennas in the references. Striking VSWR, gain, and radiation pattern are attained in the desired frequency band. The promising UWB application of the antenna has been confirmed through simulation and measurement procedures verification.
