On Cypris songkhramensis, a new species of Ostracoda (Crustacea) from Thailand

Cypris songkhramensis, new species, is described based on material from a wetland in the Lower Songkhram River Basin in Thailand. The new species can be characterized mainly by the subglobose carapace in dorsal view, the strongly beak-shaped anterior margin, the presence of two anterior and one posterior spines on the left valve, a short row of conspicuous denticles in the ventral inner list of the left valve, smooth large bristles on the maxillula, the remarkably short h3 seta on the second thoracopod, the long e seta on the third thoracopod and the very long Sp seta on the caudal ramus. A key to genera of the subfamily Cypridinae is also provided.
