Getting the best from the experts

VETS often find themselves in the position of the 'expert' in various contexts such as during a meeting with the local nutritionist or the management team of, say, a farm or a stud. Equally. they also recognise that there are instances when other vets can provide a higher level of clinical expertise - hence the system of referrals within the profession. Quite often, however, they are reticent about asking for advice in areas which could improve their own practice or its management. In this article.
