Two crystalline open-framework scandium phosphate-oxalates, formulated as C4N2H14 center dot Sc-2(HPO4) (H2PO4)(2)(C2O4)(2)center dot 3H(2)O (1) and C6N2H18 center dot Sc-2(HPO4)(3)(C2O4)center dot H2O (2), were prepared by solvent-free metho using N-methyl-1,3-propanediamine and N,N-diethylethylenediamine as the structure-directing agents, respectively. They have different three-dimensional structures with intersecting 8-, 8-and 12-ring channels. Compound 1 shows temperature-dependent proton-conductive behaviors. Compound 2 emits blue luminescence upon 365 nm UV light irradiation at room temperature. The second-harmonic generation response of this compound was also investigated.
