摘要
HAPEXTM, a high density polyethylene material, was studied for its use as a load-bearing bone replacement material. The biocomposite material was prepared using hydrostatic extrusion and the effect of extrusion ratio on the flexural strength was analyzed. Stress-strain tests revealed the mechanical nature of HAPEXTM. Cyclic energy dissipation (CED) was used to test the fatigue properties of the material. The resultant clinical applications were also discussed.
