摘要
English reading is one of the most important abilities in the process of English learning. It is more important for college students with the relatively poor reading proficiency. However, the current reading teaching and students' reading situation are very worrying. Therefore, it is an inevitable requirement for the development of the current society to make use of schema theory to study the teaching of college English reading. Based on this, college English reading teaching based on the schema theory was studied. In this paper, firstly, the Schema theory was introduced; then, the schema reading teaching principle was introduced in detail; finally, the construction process of the college English reading teaching model based on the Schema theory was introduced in detail. The test results show that the application of the college English reading teaching based on the Schema theory is more realistic and reasonable, and it contributes to the increase of the vocabulary for college English learners and the training of grammar skills.
