On the Development and Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage

This paper uses theoretical and analytical method puts forward that China is great country with long history and splendid national culture, it is rich in historical and cultural heritage. But under market economy, China's historical and cultural heritage protection face great difficulties. It draws the conclusions that if local government and people only pay particular attention to historical and cultural heritage utilization instead of protection, the value of historical and cultural heritage will be decreased and possibly be destroyed.
