摘要
Increasing regulatory requirements in the personal data protection arena creates new challenges for global companies generating value for businesses and their customers when designing and deploying responsive data privacy and compliance programs, achieving comprehensive compliance with the laws, and maintaining principles in corporate governance regarding conducting business ethically, sustainably, and responsibly around the world. In this work, the author demonstrates a new approach that was designed and developed at the leading global energy management provider to achieve and sustain compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and a variety of individual national personal data privacy requirements. All of this was able to be achieved together with a dedication to meeting high corporate responsibility standards and while also enabling new business opportunities across the globe. Not only will this approach strengthen trust of current clients, but it will also open the possibility of attracting new customers with an appreciation for how seriously their personal data are treated and protected.
