Nondestructive material testing using a high-intensity ultraviolet laser source

摘要
This paper demonstrates the ability of ultraviolet laser assisted fluorescent penetrant testing to detect and characterize minute surface discontinuities on industrial materials. The resolution capability of the procedure was measured to be 6 mu m for line detection and 36 mu m for line width measurement.
