摘要
Ball burnishing process is a surface modification technique that improves the surface finish, microhardness and induces compressive residual stress on the surface and sub-surface of manufactured parts. As a result, the service life is enhanced with the improvement of wear, corrosion, fatigue and creep resistance. This paper focused on the ball burnishing of rare earth based Magnesium Ze41A alloy and also studied the effect of burnishing force, lateral feed and no. of passes on the surface finish. Burnishing force of 50 N, lateral feed of 50 mu m and 2 pass condition provides the better surface roughness results. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
