A new cell code assignment for implementing the distance-based location update strategy

摘要
Location updating is an important issue in the cellular communication systems. Distance-based location update strategy has been shown that outperforms other location update strategies. The challenge encountered is the implementation of the strategy. This paper introduces a scheme for implementing the distance-based location update strategy. The scheme is based on cell code assignment. The paper proposes a code generation method for homogeneous cell patterns and distance threshold up to 6 rings.
