摘要
The Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) is a radio interferometer composed of 66 antennas located on the Chajnantor plateau at 5 km altitude in northern Chile. With baselines of up to 16 km, ALMA provides unprecedented spatial resolution and sensitivity in the mm/submm wavelength range for the study of star and galaxy formation. The ALMA project is designed to support the research interests of a broad and diverse astronomical community. As part of this support the ALMA science pipeline provides an automated calibration and imaging procedure which produces standard science quality data products for both radio expert and non-radio expert astronomers.
