DOES EXTERNAL TECHNOLOGY ACQUISITION IMPROVE DOMESTIC FIRM'S TECHNOLOGICAL CAPABILITY REALLY? EVIDENCE FROM SUZHOU REGION

In the past several decades, external technology acquisition becomes an important method of technology innovation. This paper focuses on analyzing the relationship of external technology acquisition and technological capability development of domestic firm using survey method to gather data Of Suzhou region's domestic firm. Basing on the data of 204 domestic firms, using SPSS13.0 and SmartPLS2.0M to analyze, we find that: technology learning process is positively related with technological capability; technology spillovers from FDI has positive effect on technological capability, and technological learning process acts as an complete mediator variable of the relationship of technology spillover from FDI and technological capability.
