Fuzzy mobility management in cellular communication systems

摘要
There is growing need to provide location mechanisms to determine the movement of a mobile user in order to grant quality of service (QoS) in cellular communication systems. Predicting in advance the movement of a mobile user, the system can tune the operation point: blocking and interruption probabilities in circuit switched networks, and flow weights in packet commutation networks. The use of fuzzy symbols allows to better manage imprecise (fuzzy) location information due to attenuation and multi-path propagation. A fuzzy automaton deals with the strings of fuzzy symbols that represent the mobile user movement across the geography of the cellular system, and grants a high recognition rate of the path followed by the mobile terminal. This fuzzy automaton can select the blocking and interrupting probabilities and then ensure QoS for different scenarios of the cellular system.
