THE SUCCESS AND FAILURE OF APPLYING GAMIFICATION IN A LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FROM A PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE

摘要
Gamification is the new hype, not only in business, but in education too. Deriving from the word "game", it aims to extract all the techniques that make games fun and engaging, and apply it to a learning environment, in order to increase student motivation and engagement. In essence, it is a new word for an old concept, that of games supporting learning. It is also a comprehensive word, which includes various theories of the field of psychology, though under a different name. Whether it is applied successfully or not has to do with human psychology and not with how many points or which badges are awarded. In this paper, we aim to examine the psychological basis on which success or failure occurs in a learning environment when gamification is applied.
