摘要
The highest air pollution from NOx emissions affects especially city centres with maximum concentration of public roads. Traffic, mostly air and car traffic is presently the biggest producer of NOx (51 %). This is the main reason for looking for solutions to reduce NOx emissions from traffic. The objective of this study is to quantify the volume of NOx emissions produced by passenger cars using LPG as primary fuel, the volume of NOx emissions produced by passenger cars combusting standard hydrocarbon oil fuel (gas) and NOx emissions produced by a selected model group of passenger cars combusting LPG as an alternative fuel. The calculations show that the usage of LPG as an alternative fuel can lead to a decrease in total volume of NOx emissions in comparison with the standard gas engine by 0.41 - 13.83 %. The use of LPG is a suitable way of decreasing NOx emissions in road transportation.
