Machine Learning Meteorologist Can Predict Rain

This paper presents the process of predicting weather conditions, and specifically rain, by examining five classification algorithms and data from popular weather datasets. Two datasets were trained and analyzed; an inconclusive dataset containing weather data from New Delhi, India and an Australian weather dataset. We have found that Machine Learning can perform better than traditional mathematical models in the scope of weather prediction over time through research into related work coupled with our experimentation. The main predicament of our research is the inability for the simple models we used to adapt to a dataset in which positive weather cases are few and far between.
