Peanuts are also a source of helpful biologically active components found in plant foods, such as phytochemicals. Some of the phytochemicals ill peanuts include flavonoids and phenolic compounds. This article discusses bioactive compounds and nutraceuticals ill peanuts that could be used ill prevention and management of illnesses such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and other degenerative diseases. The biological activity of anti-nutritional factors ill peanuts is also briefly discussed.
