摘要
Present work aims to investigate the thermal conductivity and mechanical characterization of the textile material reinforced polymer composites. Low cost needle-punched nonwoven fabric mat were used as reinforcing material. Polymer composites were developed with various weight percentages of 400gsm and 600gsm fabric mats in epoxy matrix by hand lay-up technique. Mechanical characterization such as hardness, impact energy, flexural and strength were examined experimentally of the fabricated composites. Thermal conductivity of the fabricated composites was also evaluated experimentally and theoretically. Experimental results revels that the evaluated mechanical properties increases while the thermal conductivity decreases with increased fabric weight percentage.
