Statistical Characterization of BEIDOU Navigation Errors with A Consumer Multi-Constellation GNSS Receiver

摘要
With 14 BEIDOU-2 satellites, the second generation of the BEIDOU system and officially called the BeiDou Satellite Navigation System (BDS), currently in operation, and the recent release of the Interface specification, we find more and more consumer manufacturers and customers in the marketplace have been asking for BEIDOU-2 functionality. The BEIDOU-2 constellation now provides signals to China and surrounding areas, but plans for global by the end of the decade with next generation. Manufacturers and customers will want to seek out a solution that has been highly proactive in ensuring their products that can provide integrity with reliability and consistency for each constellation system. Thus people may be asking how does it go now about implementing BEIDOU-2 support in current GNSS product since BEIDOU-2 regional service opens to Asia in ends of 2012? The coverage isn't global yet, thus user also curious to when they're based in Europe or America? In this paper, we will present a quality analysis on BEIDOU-2 systems and the measurement quality in terms code and phase from a consumer grade receiver, Mediatek's MT3333. This work will also demonstrate a robust solution for integrating the BEIDOU-2 solution into the current neat and reliable GNSS receiver which is capable on a mobile device.
