摘要：
Firstly, an overview of research on urban sustainable development is done both home and abroad, and an index system and method are put forward to evaluate urban sustainable development. Then the index system of Jinan sustainable development was set up according to the principles of index selecting and the condition of Jinan city, moreover, the situation of sustainable development was analyzed and evaluated between the year 1999 to 2004, and the problems was found. At last, some countermeasures and suggestions were put forward according to the actuality of Jinan.
