Optimized Short-Through Time Distribution for Inductor Current Ripple Reduction in Z-Source Inverter

摘要
This paper proposes a novel switching strategy for a Z-source inverter, which has unequal short-through periods to reduce current ripple in the inductors of its impedance source. This proposed method can reduce the inductor current ripple by 26.9% than a conventional method, which has an equal short through interval, without increasing number of the switching of the inverter. The proposed method and the ripple reduction were confirmed in experiments with an 1 kW laboratory prototype. The experimental results agreed well with calculated results, and it was confirmed that the proposed method does not increase loss of the circuit.
