摘要
Land surface temperature (LST) is crucial for a wide range of applications such as meteorology, climatology, and hydrology. In this study, we develop a method to normalize the Terra-MODIS LST to the same local solar time. An empirical relationship is established to estimate the slope of LST versus local solar time from the MSG-SEVIRI brightness temperature at the top of the atmosphere during the period 10:00-12:00 and 21:00-23:00 local solar time. This relationship is then used to normalize the Terra-MODIS LST to the same local solar time. The results indicate that the spatial variations of the MODIS LST caused by different local solar time are removed after the temporal normalization. The temporal normalized LST may become more suitable for global climate studies.
