Architecture of a reconfigurable and reusable web-based environment

摘要
The Internet is changing rapidly, and existing web servers need to respond to new client capabilities and web technologies, an. expensive and error-prone undertaking. It is unrealistic to expect web servers to be taken off-line to make configuration changes. The paper presents a reconfigurable and reusable architecture for a web-based environment that includes a protocol allowing dynamic server reconfiguration. Packaging functionality into software components called filters allows them to be reused in different clients and servers. To quickly deploy the new or updated filters, servers have the ability to negotiate and distribute the filters to their clients. As a result, this dynamic reconfigurable and reusable architecture saves users time and money.
