Chirplet Transform Signal Decomposition for echo detection and estimation

摘要
Decomposition and analysis of nonstationary signals is a challenging problem common to radar, sonar, EEG, speech processing, and ultrasound. The Chirplet Transform Signal Decomposition (CTSD) algorithm described in this work presents a computationally efficient method for separating overlapping echoes through successive detection. Performance of this algorithm is evaluated for different signals typical in ultrasound and target detection and ranging. As part of algorithm characterization, a System on a Chip (SoC) hardware implementation has been developed.
