High-voltage discharges in clay slurries at elevated pressure

摘要
implications of hidrostatic pressure for breakdown features in water and clay slurry discharge gaps are tested experimentally. The paper shows discharge gap lengths in these media depending on pressure changes for two accumulated electritcity levels, 1.35 and 0.45 kJ, at 30 kV charging voltage. The edge - plane electrode system appears to fail discharging across energy-optimum gaps both in water and clay slurries. Domains of disruptive and non-disruptive discharges are defined.
