Design and Characterization of Ultrathin Wide Band Transmission and Reflection Type Metasurface

摘要
In this paper, design and characterization of ultrathin wide band highly transmissive and reflective metasurface by using sub-wavelength modified double circular ring resonator (MDCRR) as fundamental unit cell and its complementary unit cell operating in same frequency band for x-band application is proposed. The transmission type metasurface is designed by using MDCRR unit cell and reflection type metasurface (MS) is designed by using complementary MDCRR unit cell. The thickness of MS is 0.025 lambda at centre frequency 10 GHz making the absorber ultrathin. The MS is characterized by using free space measurement technique. The MDCRR MS is found to have wide transmission band of 3.10 GHz from 8.80 GHz to 11.90 GHz. The complementary MDCRR MS is found to have wide reflection band of about 4 GHz from 8.10 GHz to 12 GHz. The simulated and measured results are in good agreement.
