The influence of solvent properties on the poly(methyl methacrylate) dissolution rate

摘要
Data on the rate of dissolution of polymers in organic solvents cannot be summarized unless the effects of several parameters expressed by linear multiparametric equations are taken into account. Using poly(methyl methacrylate) dissolution in 15 different solvents as an example, it is shown that the rate of the process increases with a rise in polarity and decreases with an increase in the solvent molar volume or electrophilicity.
