Real and nominal convergence of the Slovak economy to the European Union

The possible development of the real and nominal convergence of the Slovak economy to the EU average is here expressed by the alternative convergence scenarios worked out by the authors. These scenarios have been processed using both expert ;estimations and simulation applications of the authors' "SR-2001" econometric macromodel. The estimated results of the real and nominal convergence to the EU level by the authors have been used in Czech and Slovak governmental studies on the integration of both the Czech and Slovak economies to the EU. Entering the EU by 2004 seems to be the optimum scenario for Slovakia.
