摘要
Catalyst nanoparticles on a support of activated carbon have been used to significantly enhance the catalytic stability and activity. Herein, activated carbon supported CuSnOS nanoparticles (CuSnOS/AC) was developed by a facile method to be a catalyst for reducing organic pollutants and heavy metals. The characterization results demonstrated that CuSnOS nanoparticles with spherical shape were successfully dispersed on the surface of AC. The catalytic activities of CuSnOS/AC synthesized with different hydrazine contents were studied with the best one at CuSnOS/AC-0.30 mL, which at an amount of 10 mg in a 100 mL aqueous solution completely reduced RhB, MB, MO, and Cr(VI) of 50 mg/L and 4-NP of 20 mg/L within 4, 6, 4, 9 and 5 min, respectively. The re-usability data of CuSnOS/AC-0.30 mL toward the reduction of RhB, and XPS and XRD spectra of CuSnOS/AC-0.30 mL after the reaction showed that CuSnOS/AC catalyst exhibit a good stability and superior activity due to the much uniform dispersion of CuSnOS nanoparticles, the presence of mesoporous structure, and the enhanced interaction between CuSnOS nanoparticles and the support. The results demonstrate that CuSnOS/AC is an efficient and stable catalyst that provides a practical application in environment remediation. (C) 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
