摘要
Incidents (emergency breakdowns) associated with the operation of pipelines are very common and in order to localize them, the exact location of pipeline rupture shall be found. This paper deals with the time period of gas outflow from a hole in a long pipeline, operating under high pressure. The authors developed the method for calculating the time period, required for the natural gas to flow out from the pipeline. A mathematical model of gas outflow from the hole is developed, and the costs for the isothermal and adiabatic expansions are determined. The time period of gas outflow from the pipeline in order to prepare it for repair works performance is shown with a specific example.
