摘要
Cellulosic Juncus effusus fiber with porous structure, belonging to the carbohydrate polymers group, was chemically modified by a resin to form a cellulose-based adsorbent (FA-JE) for the removal of Disperse Red 3B dye. The structural characteristics and elemental changes of FA-JE were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and with an X-ray photoelectron spectrometer, while the morphology was observed via scanning electron microscopy. The pH, contact time, and adsorption temperature were investigated for optimal adsorption of disperse dyes. The adsorption of Disperse Red 3B dye by FA-JE was consistent with that observed by the Langmuir model. The maximum adsorption capacity of FA-JE was 103.95 mg/g, and the removal of disperse Red 3B dye was 99%. The data fitted well to pseudo-second-order kinetic model was followed. Thus, this natural cellulose-based adsorbent was determined to exhibit excellent performance for the removal of Disperse Red 3B dye.
