Synthesis of aromatic polycyclic benzofuroxan compounds

Two benzofuroxan compounds, N,N'-bis (2',4'-dinitro-benzofuro xanyl) -1,3,5-trinitro-2,4-diaminobenzene and N, N', N "-tri (2', 4'-dinitro-benzofuroxanyl) -1, 3, 5-trinitro-2, 4, 6-triaminobenzene were synthesized from 2, 4-dichloro-1, 3, 5-trinitrobenzene, 2, 4, 6-trichloro-1, 3, 5-trinitrobenzene and 3-Chloroaniline through condensation,nitration, azidation and pyrolysis reactions. The molecular structures of the benzofuroxans and their intermediates were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, (HNMR)-H-1 and MS spectroscopy.
