Design and nonlinear analysis of high-gain and broad-band distributed power amplifier with traveling-wave gain stages by harmonic balance method

摘要
This paper demonstrates a three-stage hybrid-distributed amplifier based on Darlington configuration to achieve high gain and over several octaves of bandwidth for microwave and millimeter-wave frequency applications. The Darlington single-stage distributed amplifier (DSSDA) is used as traveling wave gain stages to improve the gain performance of the conventional distributed amplifier. This configuration achieves 14 +/- 1 dB small signal flat gain from 1 to 40 GHz and output power at 1 AB gain compression is 19 +/- 1 dBm over the desired band.
