Taxes in the price of oil and oil products

In the conditions of market economy under the absence of direct state regulation the prices on oil and petroleum are determined by the interaction of a supply and demand. However it does not mean that a state has no possibility to influence pricing by an indirect way (throughout taxation). At the same time, the scales of similar influence are not absolutely clear. In this article the author considers the system of taxation of extraction and sale of oil and petroleum on the Russian and world markets and esteems what part in the price of oil and petroleum taxes approximately amount to. The outcomes allow answering whether the Russian state effectively implements the policy in the oil sector of the economy in the part of extraction of the natural rent in its favour or not.
