摘要
In this paper, we study a sensor network test-bed system to create comfortable environments in university libraries. First, a sensor network configuration that can maintain suitable temperature and humidity levels by controlling air conditioning equipment is described. Next, a method of measuring the temperature distribution in large spaces within buildings is described that uses far-infrared (FIR) cameras. The results of experiments suggest that it is feasible to use one or more far-infrared cameras to capture the temperature distribution within atria, which avoids the need to install many discrete temperature sensors. Finally, a data transmission method that uses power line communication (PLC) is evaluated. The networking performance is evaluated from the viewpoints of power line cable length, influence of breakers, and PLC modem type. As a result, the number of devices that can be connected to one network is estimated.
