摘要
The creative economy differs from the traditional economy by the new role that individuals play. In the creative economy, individuals use infinite resources over which they do not compete primarily on prices. There has been going on a transition from the economy of decreasing returns to scale, based on the scarcity of physical resources to the economy of increasing returns to scale, based on the virtually unlimited character of ideas and on individuals' inexhaustible virtues. Thus, in the creative economy, individuals and companies use resources which are not scarce, over which they exert intellectual property rights. The main aim of this paper is to highlight the role of individuals and communities in the creative economy in the first place and also to demarcate the concept of the creative class and creative communities with a view to apply it to the Romanian creative economy.
