摘要
Video games and their use as a tool in the learning process is a relevant topic within educational scientific literature, where gamification, serious games and Game-Based Learning are very attractive for educators. The objective of this study is to review the educational scientific literature related to video games and their benefits in Primary Education, with a focus on Spanish publications. The subjects involved, the number of publications per year, and the relevance of the journals that publish them are reviewed, as well as the frequency of article publications by journals and citations in Google Scholar. The benefits found in this review include attention, concentration, or problem solving. It is a resource of great interest with great teaching potential, being an incredibly attractive tool capable of playing an important role in cognitive development. Thanks to the evolution that they have undergone over the years, video games can be used on a wide variety of platforms and adapted to the different subjects of Primary Education, particularly Mathematics and Social Sciences.
