Prediction of slug frequency for air-water two-phase flows in horizontal pipes

摘要
Slug frequency is one of the most important parameters of slug flow. Predicting the slug frequency is also considered as the important subject that has been studied by domestic and abroad multiphase flow researchers. The paper analyses and compares the previous prediction models and correlations of slug frequency; on the base of slug frequency by calculating holdup data in 2 inch horizontal loop, the new correlation of predicting slug frequency was proposed in the paper. The prediction result is verified by 89 slug frequency data by calculating slug flow pressure data in 2 inch pipes, and testified by 24 slug frequency data in I inch pipes.
