摘要
Atrioventricular synchrony is an important objective of cardiac pacing. VDD pacing has emerged as an alternative to DDD pacing for patients with atrioventricular (AV) conduction block, and normal sinus node function. We report our follow-up experience with VDD pacing. A total of 38 patients were implanted a VDD pacemaker for AV conduction block and normal sinus node function. During implantation, P wave voltage ranged from 1.2 to 3.9 mV (mean 2.11+/-0.75 mV). The procedure was uncomplicated in all patients and no atrial sensing failure was observed in any patient. Follow-up of 1-38 months has been uncomplicated with only one patient showing evidence of occasional sensing failure. No case of pacing failure was observed. None of the patients has developed evidence of sinus node dysfunction during this period.
