摘要
Phosphogypsum is a by-product which is formed during the production of phosphoric acid in Abou-Zaabal fertilizers. This waste product is used with clay Misr brick as a non-plastic material in clay building bricks,The effect of mix composition as well as firing temperature of the bricks was studied. The clay was substituted by, 5, 10, 15 and 20 wt% of phosphogypsum. Firing temperatures, were 650, 700, 750 and 800 degrees C with 2 hrs soaking time. It was found that phosphogypsum as a filler can be used as an inert material in clay brick up to 10 wt% in products fired at 750 degrees C for 2 hrs soaking time.
