Polariton dispersion and polarisation splitting for quantum well excitons in single and coupled microcavities

摘要
A theoretical and experimental study of cavity-polariton dispersion in single and coupled cavities with embedded quantum wells (QWs) in the strong coupling regime is presented. For coupled cavities, removal of the degeneracy of spatially separated QW excitons is achieved via coupling of symmetric (antisymmetric) coupled-cavity modes to the corresponding exciton states. The polarisation splitting between cavity polaritons is also experimentally studied and theoretically described.
