摘要
The use of e-commerce in small medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has become an important topic in information systems research Despite the enormous attention given to encouraging SMEs to adopt e-commerce both by academics as well as governments, little research has been carried out comparing the current benefits and barriers listed in the literature with the actual experiences of SMEs and consultants in adopting e-commerce, especially in countries like Indonesia It is, therefore, the aim of this paper to address this issue by providing a closer look at actual experience of Indonesian SMEs and consultants. This paper presents a series of case studies of SMEs in Indonesia that have either recently adopted e-commerce technology to who have decided to forgo that adoption. The aim of the study was to determine the appropriateness Of benefits of e-commerce and barriers to e-commerce adoption in the Indonesia SME sector.
